Hi from Giang at Vietnam Art Gallery!
Thanks for subscribing to our newsletter at the site, this is the first message we've sent,
so please bear with us. We're new at this. ;=)
Just last week, I arrived back from Hanoi where I purchased more art by the following artists:
Nguyen,
Hoang Minh,
Ha,
Tam,
Hoang Giap, and
Van Anh.
While I was there I asked Minh to tell us about his art and how it fits in with the world, and he replied:
"To us, truth does not exist in the outside world, but in the
unconsciousness. Legends of very sensitive feelings where
a more splendid, never-world has been created and where
only stay the truth and the beauty."
I particularly like the imagery that 'never-world' conjures. (Apologies for any mistranslations, but I
think I got it pretty much correct.)

I met and spoke with Van Anh, a relatively
young lady artist in Hanoi also. She had this to say about her wonderful
"harvest" studies:
"In nature, light is great crown, which increases the nobility
and the majesty of mountains, forests, flowers, and grass.
In painting, light forms the living shape and stroke, and is also
the shape & the stroke itself . It can move or play on the
canvas, depending on how big or small, thick or thin it is,
and depending on the way it is arranged."

And finally, the artist I'm most excited about introducing to you – Ha has a superb cubist style and I currently have only 12 original
works by him. Take a look at his work at here.
I suggest you act quickly if you are keen to own any of these fantastic works.
I asked Ha what he thought of the blossoming art scene in Vietnam…
I am very glad to see Vietnamese Art in the world now. Between
1988 and 1990, seen by many as a landmark period in Vietnam
and especially in Ho Chi Minh city, the first real art market came
into being.
Earlier, back in the early 1980s, some overseas Vietnamese from
U.S., Australia , and Canada came back to collect paintings of
famous artists of pre-1975 Saigon, for example, Ngoc Dung , Thai
Tuan , Vi Y, Duy Thanh, as well as the work of such renowned artists
as Nguen Gia Tri, Bui Xuan Phai, et... Their activity gradually became
a catalyst for the emergence of the new and exciting art market from
1990 onwards.
Before 1990, it was scarce for a Vietnamese artist to sell his painting
for over USD$1,000. But since early 1992, however, the prices of
Vietnam's paintings has soared up significantly due to their distinct
quality . The price of about $3,000USD for a painting was quite
common. In 1993 , Ho Huu Thu's abstract lacquer paintings were sold
at the price USD$15,000 to a Japanese collector . At the end of 1995,
in Lavong Gallery in Hong Kong an oil-painting by the same artist was
sold at USD 50,000 , breaking all doubts on the prices of the artist' s
paintings in domestic market and providing a stimulus for other artists.

Also from the year 1990, many Vietnamese Artists were asked by
collectors, galleries and the World Cultural Association to display their
paintings at international Exhibition for the first time.
From then on a multinational market appeared featuring increasing
numbers of international collectors coming to Vietnam to buy paintings
on the spot, and to invite individual artists or groups of artists to
participate in overseas exhibitions…
However opportunities for the majority of artists to exchange with
the world are still scarce . For some gifted artists, their difficult
financial conditions are a major obstacle as they do not easily have
opportunities to come into contact with art collectors.
So I am a painter and collector myself – thanks for including my
paintings on this website, and to all of you reading, please buy
Vietnamese art!"
I couldn't have said it better myself. And on that note; thanks for reading. I hope to see you soon at our gallery at

Best regards,
Le Giang.
